The Backbone of the Rural Church

Rural ministry asks a great deal of those who serve. Leaders shoulder a wide range of responsibilities, travel long distances, and often care for multiple under-resourced communities at once. It is no wonder they often feel stretched so thin!

Catholic Rural Life supports priests, deacons, and lay leaders with formation, retreats, resources, and ongoing accompaniment created for the realities of rural parish life. Our two programs below support clergy seeking renewal in their vocation and parish teams seeking formation.

Thriving in Rural Ministry

For Priests & Deacons

Rural clergy need encouragement from others who understand the joys and challenges of their vocation. Thriving in Rural Ministry gives priests and deacons serving rural communities opportunities for retreat, fraternity, and formation rooted in the realities of their daily ministry.
